ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence developed by OpenAI.

It is highly controversial with many people, including myself and those in the writing and art communities. Many people, just seeing AI, will unfollow people. So why is AI being introduced as an author? Because a thought came into my head that it would be funny. Many people try to use AI to create art and pass it off as their own. It would be unique to give AI full credit, doing the opposite. This is a novelty book, although it does have a complete story. But in this ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ series, we have real authors all write their novellas from the ingenuity of their minds. I cannot guarantee they do not, it is said that each individual comes up and writes their own story, attaching to the series without the use of artificial intelligence. 

This is simply a novelty book in that regard, and many I know will be upset by using it at all. And even though I am giving it credit, it still used the art to train itself from many individuals. And yet, even though I am disclosing the use of AI, I am still contributing to this growing problem, and if anything, I am at least normalizing it. That is true. The only thing I can say is you are entirely correct. My reason, not an excuse, but the reason I am doing so, even with the possibility of not having authors participate, and having readers pass by, which isn’t fair to the current participating authors, is that this project as a whole is to be unique. This thought that came into my head seemed like an Alice in Wonderland-type occurrence, where anything can happen and imagination is endless, which is the goal. By not doing it, even at my peril, would be to resist creativity, the opposite of what I am encouraging. So, ironically, I am using the least creative path to be innovative in this one book. My apologies for offending anyone, though I know it’s inevitable. I can only hope that many will simply ignore this book and enjoy the many other books by creative authors who have worked hard on their contributing novella. This entire project aims to harness the creativity of many in the face of AI. Though you hate this and this book, I hope you can appreciate the thought that led me here, whether you agree or not. Thanks, and again, to reiterate, I too didn’t want to do this, but I thought it needed to be done nonetheless.
