The Reset

Money has become worthless as The Reset ushered forth a global economic collapse. The majority of the world transitioned to cryptocurrency which all vanished without rhyme or reason setting all accounts to zero.

While many strive to endure the tribulations of the new world, others look to the apocalypse as a gift of unsanctioned freedom.

Taking place before the book Shelter, The Reset focuses on the survival of those who experienced the results of the worldwide economic collapse first hand. Each perspective shares a connection with one another and cumulatively ties back into the Shelter series.

Alone in a government bunker a man starts to lose his grip on reality due to the prolonged isolation. A new alarm sounds throughout the installation as strangers approach the bunker door.

A single father combats PTSD while he drives his three-year-old son across the country. During their trip the world is faced with a global economic collapse marking the rest of their journey to face uncertain dangers.

When seven war veterans are reunited they discover one of their own no longer wishes to live. Together they embark on a bucket list of adventures doing whatever they wanted as though it were their last days on earth. From robbing a bank to infiltrating Area 51, the group known as Death Wish look to the end of the world as the perfect opportunity to do whatever they please while damning all consequences.

Breaking the surface of the Atlantic Ocean several weeks after the collapse, the crew aboard the USS Alvin York piece together the fall of the United States government. While embarking on a rescue mission Commander Forte’s pledge of loyalty is put to the test against a new enemy that wishes to lay claim to power over the survivors of The Reset.

The Shelter Initiative was enacted as a plan to ensure the survival of the United States government by protecting key regions within the country while the rest of the nation was left to fend for themselves. Providing resources and aid to these Shelter cities were DISTRO teams that would scour abandoned towns and settlements, scavenging anything goods or resources of value while laying waste to anyone that opposed them.

Guarding the Barricade closing off the north side of Chicago a team of crooked police officers await on a cold November night for a smuggler to exchange packages. When radio contact with the rest of the police force is cut off, the decision to go forward with the trade off becomes not so black and white.

Stranded in the abandoned city of Detroit, Finn struggles to provide for his son. As starvation creeps in he is pushed to a last resort for sustenance that will cause him to lose the rest of his fading humanity.

The Reset showcases the larger world in the Shelter series showing readers the vast ramifications of the collapse. While structured as a series of short stories taking place before the fall of Chicago depicted in Shelter Part 1, The Reset follows several characters that will be introduced further into the series, setting as an origin for who they were and hope they were set down their paths to meet with Scott, Andrew, and Dani, the main characters from the main set in the series.
