What is Prepping Down The Rabbit Hole?

PDRH is a collaborative storytelling platform where readers and writers create a branching, ever-expanding literary universe. Each book is a springboard—continue any tale in any direction and discover a single story with infinite endings.

These are entry points into the series. Each is stand-alone and launches a unique path. Writers can connect to any of these in any way.

How to Use the Website

Visit the homepage to view the five starter books. Click any book to see its summary and all titles connected to it. Follow "attached books" to dive deeper and trace branches through the rabbit hole.

  • Read published books via the Amazon links on each page.
  • Explore free PDF submissions using the Submit & Read Manuscripts button on each book.
  • Keep clicking through attached books to discover new branches.
Writers

Shape the Story

Connect your novella to any published book—at any point in its text. Veer off before a character appears, rewrite a fate, or expand a world. The options are endless.

  • Hook up at a chapter, paragraph, sentence, or even a single word.
  • Write 23,000–26,000 words in any genre and voice.
  • If published, other authors can branch from your novella, fracturing it into new paths.

Choose a Book

Click on any book you'd like to continue from.

Go to Manuscripts

On that book's page, click Submit & Read Manuscripts.

Upload Files

Upload a PDF (public display) and a DOC/DOCX (review/editing).

Complete the Form

Provide your name/pen name and email, plus a cover page with contact info (optional), a 1–2 paragraph description, where your story hooks up (with paperback page if available), and any trigger warnings.

Waiver & Rights

Publication & Platform

All submitted manuscripts become the property of Stephanie James Publishing. Submitted PDFs are free for all readers. If selected for official publication, the free PDF will be replaced by the Amazon version, you'll receive an author page, and others can hook up to your book.

  • We'll make reasonable efforts to contact you to collaborate on edits and cover.
  • If we cannot reach you in a reasonable time, we may still publish.
  • Only officially published books can be continued by other writers. PDFs cannot be hooked up to.

Click on a Wonderland Creature from within the Orb or from the Checklist, then click play game.
